Fun With Play Dough

KeKe

Today KayKay uttered the dreaded question... "Mom, I'm bored.. what can I do for fun?"
School has been out for two and a half weeks, so I guess it was bound to happen. My son, Osney is 14 and he barely leaves his room, lol and so it falls to me to entertain my youngest. Today we made some play dough from a recipe I found online.  Here is the recipe we used:

2 1/4 c. flour
1 c. salt
1 c. water
1/2 c. oil

food coloring

These are approximates as I never like to be exact... I wanted purple dough so we mixed blue and red food coloring which made for a marbled look. The more KayKay plays with it, the more purple it
appears.

Its edible but it taste funny to much salt for me but if your kids eat it your covered.

Rags vs Let It Shine

KayKay

Ok I get to start this post today. Our post for today is about two movies that came out around the same time, Rags and Let It Shine. Rags is a twist on the Cinderella story where Cinderella is a boy, Charlie Prince to be specific. And instead of prince charming its more like princess who is the famous Kadee Worth the main characters are played by Max Schneider and KeKe Palmer. In Let It Shine it is mistaken identity when Cyrus played by Tyler James Williams enters a talent contest and sends in a photo of him and his better looking friend Chris. When the famous Roxie played by Coco Jones believes its Chris, so he gets all the fame. Bummer.....

KeKe

Well, my vote goes to Rags. I liked the music better. I still find myself singing "Perfect Harmony" The characters were also easier to like. In Rags, Kadee is a famous person who has values. I liked that even though she did not agree with her father on what music she should sing, she respected his wishes. She also didn't think she was too good to befriend Charlie, the janitor. Roxie from Let it Shine was very superficial. She liked the rap that was sent into her contest. The winning entry photo had two people in it. She assumed it was the guy she found more attractive and immediately declared him the winner without even verification. That alone was stupid and the rest of the film is based on the mix up, which I found highly implausible. Also the rap battles were very weak and Disneyfied. The last rap battle was good though.

KayKay

Yeah I liked Rags better too, I personally loved the characters in that pre teen way you know the one... any way the music was better, the story line and all that boring stuff the critics say in their reviews that I don't read so yeah.....

Music

KayKay: Rags 5/5      Let It Shine 2/5
KeKe:     Rags 4/5      Let It Shine 3/5

Characters

KayKay: Rags 5/5      Let It Shine 2/5
KeKe:     Rags 4/5      Let It Shine 3/5

Storyline

KayKay: Rags 5/5      Let It Shine 1/5
KeKe:     Rags 4/5      Let It Shine 2/5

Likely to watch again

KayKay: Rags 7/5 (to be truthful) Let It Shine 1/5
KeKe:     Rags 3/5                       Let It Shine 1/5

And the winner is...

RAGS!!!

OOAK

KeKe

KayKay and I have been collecting dolls for quite sometime. Our current favorites are the Monster High Series. So many people have begun creating One Of A Kind (OOAK) dolls and we became inspired. We are working on is a doll for my niece's birthday. She started out Caucasian and I thought she would look better AA so we dyed her. It came out well, what do you think?

KayKay

Ahem... if you would have remembered correctly how you truly discovered OOAK dolls I wouldn''t have to tell the story for you...... I would start out by saying "it was a windy evening" but I have no idea about those details.  Anyway, someday KeKe was searching uh... eBay yeah and she came across this monster high doll.  It was Melody Carver from the monster high book series (I am only on the second one mainly because I am not a "book worm" any way moving on) she showed me the doll and I'm like "that ain't a real doll" (BTW I know my vocabulary is awesome.) and it said "melody carver ooak" and then she googled it because everyone googles stuff and THAT is how KeKe discovered ooak thank you very much...

Keke

I remember that! Although to be technical, I first learned about OOAK doll when you were two and  I saw a reborn doll... But you're right the Melody Carver opened my eyes to the possibilities...

Origins

KeKe

So this is a mother daughter blog, I'm KeKe (mom) and we decided to write a blog together. A little bit about us. We love to collect dolls and just finished our very first OOAK mermaid.!!  Anyways we love to write and are very opinionated.

KayKay

Ok, daughter here. This blog is supposed to be a "mother and daughter's opinion" Blah Blah Blah. Whatever.  I love things or I hate them, I don't like  things.  Kinda like this. Dogs: I LOVE THEM!!!!
Cody Simpson: I hate him. It's pretty simple, I guess so, yeah.
