Help save Applejack's vision

Our one year old Chihuahua mix needs surgery to restore her vision.

She was adopted at three months old and has been a integral part of our family. Two weeks ago I noticed a blurry spot on her left eye. I took her to the vet in Leland and was referred to Animal Eye Care in Wilmington.  A week later a blurry spot appeared in her right eye. The vet at Animal
Eye Care stated that the fast onset of the cataracts indicated that she was probably malnourished during the critical first weeks of life.

Her retinas are NOT damaged and her eye sight can be saved with surgery.  The surgery runs around $2200 plus after care for a year.

We are trying to raise the money for her surgery. Any and all help is appreciated. Please visit her page at

Like it, share it or just send her warm wishes and thoughts.

We also have a cafe press shop with some I Heart Applejack tee shirts and other items. They can be found at www.cafepress.com/iheartapplejack .   All proceeds go towards her eye surgery.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Spectra Vondergiest

So I decided to move some of KayKay's posts from her old blog. I feel they are great so I am adding them here. I have no clue how to import them. Lol
KeKe

Ok so this post is for Spectra Vondergeist. I have recently purchased her which I thought was never going to happen because it seems impossible to find her and Abbey Bominiable, who I also have been keeping an eye out for. So back to Spectra. She has long silky purple hair and the weirdest eyes. She comes with the cutest boots but thats what I think. So a little more about the character, Spectra is 16, daughter of the ghost, and her pet is a ferret named Rhuen. Her creeperific style (I guess you could say that) is lots of silk and small amount of metal. Her freaky flaw is that she is a TOTAL gossip. Pet peeve is when people don't believe her gossip. To get more in detail, her fav food is angel cake, favorite subject: journalism, least fav: math. And that is Spectra Vondergeist. Till the next post… ;-)

Skelita Calaveras Monster High Doll

There she was on the top shelf, hidden behind a couple of Ghouls Rule dolls and a picture day doll. Skelita from the Scaris line. I have been haunting Walmart, Target, Kmart and Toys r Us in the search for her. My daughter and I each have a collection of the Monster High dolls. She plays with hers and I display mine. As a good mom I will let her have this one and the next one will be for my collection. I am still searching for Jinafire and tons of others. Kaykay wants to collect them all like Pokemon, I just want a select few, the ones that capture my attention.

Bracelets for boots

We hope your Thanksgiving was delicious and that you are enjoying the holiday season.

I am sending a shout out to my daughter Kaykay, as she works to earn money for a pair of Bearpaws Boetis boots for Christmas. After some research, I told her the price was too high and that they would not be under the tree this year.

Guess what my girl said to me when I told her that we could not afford those boots? She said "Would it be okay if I sold some handmade bracelets to earn the money to buy them?" As a parent, I could not be prouder of this budding entrepreneur. She is a go-getter and willing to work for what she wants.

She has been making survival bracelets. The bracelets are unisex para-cord bracelets that are all the rage right now. She makes them to order with one or two colors in three sizes. Small = 6" Medium=7" Large= 8".

Fun With Play Dough

KeKe

Today KayKay uttered the dreaded question... "Mom, I'm bored.. what can I do for fun?"
School has been out for two and a half weeks, so I guess it was bound to happen. My son, Osney is 14 and he barely leaves his room, lol and so it falls to me to entertain my youngest. Today we made some play dough from a recipe I found online.  Here is the recipe we used:

2 1/4 c. flour
1 c. salt
1 c. water
1/2 c. oil

food coloring

These are approximates as I never like to be exact... I wanted purple dough so we mixed blue and red food coloring which made for a marbled look. The more KayKay plays with it, the more purple it
appears.

KayKay

Its edible but it taste funny to much salt for me but if your kids eat it your covered.

Rags vs Let It Shine

KayKay

Ok I get to start this post today. Our post for today is about two movies that came out around the same time, Rags and Let It Shine. Rags is a twist on the Cinderella story where Cinderella is a boy, Charlie Prince to be specific. And instead of prince charming its more like princess who is the famous Kadee Worth the main characters are played by Max Schneider and KeKe Palmer. In Let It Shine it is mistaken identity when Cyrus played by Tyler James Williams enters a talent contest and sends in a photo of him and his better looking friend Chris. When the famous Roxie played by Coco Jones believes its Chris, so he gets all the fame. Bummer.....

KeKe

Well, my vote goes to Rags. I liked the music better. I still find myself singing "Perfect Harmony" The characters were also easier to like. In Rags, Kadee is a famous person who has values. I liked that even though she did not agree with her father on what music she should sing, she respected his wishes. She also didn't think she was too good to befriend Charlie, the janitor. Roxie from Let it Shine was very superficial. She liked the rap that was sent into her contest. The winning entry photo had two people in it. She assumed it was the guy she found more attractive and immediately declared him the winner without even verification. That alone was stupid and the rest of the film is based on the mix up, which I found highly implausible. Also the rap battles were very weak and Disneyfied. The last rap battle was good though.

KayKay

Yeah I liked Rags better too, I personally loved the characters in that pre teen way you know the one... any way the music was better, the story line and all that boring stuff the critics say in their reviews that I don't read so yeah.....

Music

KayKay: Rags 5/5      Let It Shine 2/5
KeKe:     Rags 4/5      Let It Shine 3/5

Characters

KayKay: Rags 5/5      Let It Shine 2/5
KeKe:     Rags 4/5      Let It Shine 3/5

Storyline

KayKay: Rags 5/5      Let It Shine 1/5
KeKe:     Rags 4/5      Let It Shine 2/5

Likely to watch again

KayKay: Rags 7/5 (to be truthful) Let It Shine 1/5
KeKe:     Rags 3/5                       Let It Shine 1/5

And the winner is...

RAGS!!!
